Rouge River Events
Event: Fall
Canoe Trip
Date: Sat. Oct. 13, 2012
Time: 1:00 pm
Description:
On Saturday, October 13, 2012, Friends of the Rouge are holding their sixth annual public canoe trip on the lower branch of the Rouge River in the City of Wayne. This is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the fall color without traveling far from home.
The route, through Wayne County Parkland, is mainly forested and the fall foliage should be in full glory at that time. Volunteers have been working hard since spring to open passage through the numerous logjams and the route is fairly free of portages. The trip is limited to experienced paddlers due to water quality concerns. Heavner Canoe & Kayak Rental will be providing rental canoes for those who do not have their own (reservations requested).
