Traffic Enforcement
Plymouth
Township has received Traffic safety awards through out the
years for our efforts in reducing traffic crashes. This is
the primary goal of traffic enforcement for officers.
Recently the Police Department purchased a second “speed
trailer” and both are available upon requests from
residents/ schools etc. to monitor traffic volumes and
speed. The police department receives many requests for stop
signs, traffic lights and concerns of other traffic issues
and we will attempt to resolve those issues working with the
County Road Commission and Michigan Department of
Transportation. Residents should understand that what they
see as a simple solution may in fact increase the traffic
problem based on years of traffic studies conducted through
out the United States. There are requirements that must be
met to justify placing signs, signals at locations. Officers
are deployed to areas within the Township when a concern is
brought to our attention or based on number of accidents at
a location.
Residents may contact
Lt. Bob Antal
with requests for the Speed trailer or other traffic
concerns.
Plymouth Township also offers child seat
installation/inspections. Graduates from the Citizen Police
Academy have attended a 40 hour training seminar and been
certified as child seat installers. The police department
hosts car seat checks on weekends through out the year.
Contact Officer

New Booster Seal law in effect beginning July 1, 2008.
