A. Site Plan Review: New Liberty Bank

A letter was distributed to the members from Chris Caloia, 9464 Elmhurst, who was present.

After review of the landscape plan presented by Sally Hodges of McKenna Associates, members discussed various aspects of the plan.

It was moved by Mrs. Karell, supported by Mrs. Ludtke, to recommend to the Planning Commission approval of the landscape plan for the new Liberty Bank, subject to the following:

  ● The cocoa shell mulch be changed.

  ●  The brick wall be full thickness brick, with no piers. That the brick for the back wall match the brick for the piers, which is Wyandotte series.

  ●  That there be a pedestrian opening in the wall on Elmhurst to allow residents access to Ann Arbor Road.

  ●  That roses be planted at the back wall only, the others on the plan to be changed to a different variety of plant.

  ●  That the minor details specified in the report of McKenna Associates be corrected.

Ayes all, with Mr. Bohlander abstaining.

Mr. Anulewicz and Mr. Karell presented pictures of various poured concrete walls they had seen while researching various types of walls.

Approximate lineal foot prices they found were:

Poured concrete, brick pattern, no piers $140
Poured concrete, brick pattern, color, no piers $155
Brick, no piers $200
Brick, with piers $300-$340

Moved by Mrs. Karell, supported by Mr. Grutza, that the requirements for rear brick walls with a concrete cap be changed to eliminate the need for piers every thirty feet, but that the brick for the rear walls match the brick piers in front, which is Wyandotte series. Ayes all.

Moved by Mr. Bohlander, supported by Mrs. Karell, that finials be required of the larger size. Ayes all.

VII. Public Comment – N/A.

VIII. Adjournment

Moved by Mr. Bohlander, supported by Mr. Cook, to adjourn the meeting. Ayes all.
