V. Old Business
VI. New Business.
A. Update on Status of Ann Arbor Road Streetscape
Project
a. Review of Streetscape Plans
Terry Croad noted that everything is on schedule and he’s received the revised
plan which incorporates all the DDA recommendations. A possibility to reconcile
cost estimate differences would be the elimination of the gateway structure on
the northeast side of Ann Arbor and Haggerty Roads because the K-Mart sign in a
compatible frame will be located there. This would be a savings of $45,000.
Other small shortfalls can be made up by intermittent spacing of fencing where
there are long stretches planned.
Mr. Bohlander suggested approaching CVS, asking them to pay for the gateway
structure at the southwest corner of Haggerty and Ann Arbor Roads which will
front their proposed new store.
b. Status of Easements
Mr. Anulewicz and Mr. Bailey updated the Board on the acquisition of easements.
The one remaining easement acquisition is delayed by the transition from Amoco
to BP and resultant address confusion.
c. Next Steps
Mr. Croad indicated there would be another meeting with MDOT prior to the next
DDA meeting.
B. Approval of Streetscape Maintenance Agreement
Moved by Mr. Cook, supported by Mr. Bohlander, to approve the resolution for
maintenance of streetscape improvements as presented, said resolution to be
submitted to the Board of Trustees for action.
Ayes all.
VII. Public Comment. – There was none.
Mr. Bohlander suggested that the railroad crossing be changed with an
enclosure which would feature the Township logo and service club information.
Service clubs could be approached to contribute to costs.
VIII. Adjournment.
Moved by Mr. Nahra, supported by Mr. Grutza, to adjourn the meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
