Trustee John Stewart was elected in 2020 for a 4 year term. He was elected a Trustee in Plymouth Township from 1988-1992. He was elected State Representative for 3 terms, 2000-2006. Trustee Stewart is serving as Oversight to the Township Elections Commission, and, liaison to the Senior Citizens of Plymouth Township. Stewart, and his Family, have lived in Lake Pointe for 36 years.

EDUCATION
John Stewart graduated from Wyandotte Roosevelt High School in 1967. In March of 2013, he was inducted into the Wyandotte Roosevelt High School Hall of Fame. In 1971, he received his Bachelors Degree from Eastern Michigan University - Pre Law: Political Science, Economics and Business Administration. He received his Masters Degree, in Public Administration, from Wayne State University. John Stewart received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the Detroit College of Law (now at Michigan State University).

PROFESSIONAL 
Stewart is self employed and has maintained a Law Office, with 3 other Attorneys, at 1142 S. Main Street, in the City of Plymouth, for the past 36 years. In 2002, Rep. Stewart was named Michigan Legislator of the Year for the Small Business Association of Michigan. Stewart and his Family are very involved in the greater Plymouth Community: Michigan Philharmonic, Plymouth Community Band, Plymouth Oratorio Society, and, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth.

PERSONAL
He is married to Beth Stewart who was Executive Director of the Plymouth Historical Museum for 21 years, and, for the past 12 years has served as Executive Director for the Michigan Philharmonic. They have 2 daughters: Laura and Sarah, and 3 grandchildren.
