S.M.A.R.T. Traffic Radar TrailerPTPD Speed Trailer
Plymouth Township has received Traffic safety awards through out the years for our efforts in reducing traffic crashes. This is the primary goal of traffic enforcement for officers.

If you are a Plymouth Township resident, you have probably seen the interesting device that the police department uses to assist in combating speeding vehicles and to remind daydreaming drivers to watch their speed.

The S.M.A.R.T. (Speed Monitoring Awareness Radar Trailer) can be used in neighborhoods, school zones, constriction sites, dangerous areas, or any other appropriate location to help promote compliance with the speed limit. The S.M.A.R.T. trailer is a portable, self-contained speed display unit that is towed to the desired location. It is left on the roadway to displays speeds of oncoming vehicles on a highly visible (light emitted diode) display. A speed limit sign mounted on the unit reminds drivers what the actual speed limit is on the road that they are on. The unit also has the capability to record the speed data.

Blackwell Ford of Plymouth has donated their time and services to completely refurbish the township speed trailer.

If you live in Plymouth Township and feel that you have a problem with speeding vehicles in your neighborhood, you are encouraged to contact the Plymouth Township Police Departments Sgt. Seipenko and request the S.M.A.R.T. trailer be scheduled in you area.
