IV. Minutes of June 10, 2002 meeting.

Moved by Mr. Cook, seconded by Mr. Grutza, to approve the minutes of the meeting of June 10, 2002, as submitted. Ayes all.

V. Old Business

     - Update on TEA-21 Program

Terry Croad of McKenna Associates updated the members on the TEA-21 Program. Funding for the design will be available in Fiscal Year 03, which starts 10/1/02. Pre-qualified consultants will be selected and they hope to award after October 1. Funds are targeted to be available in Fiscal Year 04.

     - Prototype Screening Wall Designs

Mrs. Karell presented pictures of an attractive wall design she had seen in Northville, and Mrs. Ludtke referred to the attractive wall along I-696 near the zoo. Members discussed the potential cost to businesses of the brick wall pictured by Mr. Croad, possibly $200 per foot. Mr. Cook felt businesses should be kept informed of the actions of the DDA. Mr. Mann noted a portion of the newsletter to the businesses from the Township could be devoted to DDA news.

Mr. Croad agreed to obtain informal bids from three contractors for a brick-stamped wall, as well as brick with offset columns for lot sizes comparable to New Liberty Bank and Quiznos Subs, representing larger and smaller lots respectively.

VI. New Business

     - Review of Victory Honda Streetscape Installation.

Members reviewed photographs presented by Mr. Croad, and commented on various aspects of the streetscape, such as berms and curved plantings rather than linear. Mr. Croad pointed out the increased maintenance of curved areas, and noted his personal opinion that berms look forced in an urban setting. Mr. Mann said Mr. Bohlander had expressed his opinion that nothing should be placed between the sidewalk and the street because of increased maintenance.

VII. Public Comment

Carol Davis of the Planning Commission said she would be attending the meetings as their liaison to the DDA.

Mrs. Karell asked whether any compilation had yet been made regarding the suggestions that arose as a result of the bus tour.

VIII. Adjournment

Moved by Mr. Cook, seconded by Mr. Grutza, to adjourn the meeting. Ayes all.

Mr. Mann adjourned the meeting at 4:54 p.m.
