Trustee Buckley is a VETERAN, EDUCATOR, AND SMALL BUSINESSWOMAN.  She was voted in by the board in June 2022 to fill an open vacancy.

PROFESSIONAL:
Trustee Buckley is a veteran of the USAF, serving from 1993-2002, as a Weather Observer.  She served on active duty for 3 years and an additional 5 years with the Tennessee Air National Guard.  She served in support of Desert Storm/Shield and Joint Task Force Bravo.  She has many military schools and training to her credit.  She earned the Air Force Achievement Medal and was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Trustee Buckley is an entrepreneur running a successful interior decorating business for 10 years where her work was featured for 2 consecutive years in the Fredericksburg, VA Christmas Tour of Homes.  She was the previous owner of Grace & Grit Design Co. a faith-based retail store in Downtown Plymouth. She is currently an educator for Christ the King Homeschool Group and is a child and senior professional photographer in SE Michigan. 

PERSONAL: 
In 2005, Trustee Buckley's husband, Capt. Ralph "Jay" Harting, III was killed during Operation Iraqi Freedom.   She gave birth to her third child 2 days after her husband died.  She is remarried to Brian Buckley, a police officer for Royal Oak and a former Major in the Marine Corps.  Of their 8 children, 5 are homeschooled, 1 is a senior at Father Gabriel Richard High School, 1 is a sophomore at MSU, and 1 is a PFC in the United States Marine Corps.
