Household Batteries

Plymouth Township has a household battery recycling program. Township residents can drop-off their household batteries at the Public Services counter located on the second floor of Plymouth Township Hall. This collection is for dry cell household batteries ONLY, such as alkaline batteries and button (not coin) batteries.  Please bring ID so residency can be confirmed.  Thank you.

We will ONLY accept batteries in a transparent plastic bag NOT exceeding one gallon in size.

We will NOT accept:
  • lithium and lithium ion batteries, including lithium coin batteries
  • corroded batteries
All batteries, including lithium and corroded batteries, will be taken at a Household Hazardous Waste collection site, such as Environmental Recycling Group (ERG) in Livonia.
