One of the visible responsibilities of a Township Clerk is election administration which includes everything from registering voters to managing each and every election. Less visible to residents is the Clerk's responsibility for managing the financial operations of the Township including maintaining the general ledger, preparing detailed accounting records utilizing the state-prescribed Uniform Chart of Accounts and handling all township payables. The Clerk is also the official record keeper of all township books and records including meeting minutes, ordinances, contracts, and all other official documents.
In addition to the above statutory duties, the Plymouth Township Clerk's Office handles all Freedom of Information Act requests and is a certified U.S. Passport Acceptance Facility.
